During late 70’s, nineteen people gathered together to start a recreation club in a central place in palakkad. The aim of those gathered was to provide facilities of recreation , relaxation, and developing fraternity through interaction. Thus, on a Christmas Day in 1970a club was born which was named Town Square Club, with late A.kesavan Nair as President and Sri.N.Abdul Gafoor as Secretary. Since then, the club has grown manifold in membership, assets and recreational facilities along with name and fame. The club is spread over an area of 60 cents and the present membership has crossed 600

Town square Club is one of the oldest among its genre in south India. The club had been mentored by many great dignitaries since its inception and had witnessed many historical events and the transition from monarchy to democracy. It had equal reverence to its glorious past and the present times.

At present the club is an integral part of the matrix that defines the elite social life of the capital city. Businessmen, technocrats, bureaucrats, senior citizens, gentlemen of means, the young bloods and the literati and glitterati are represented in the club in a healthy mix. It has always been an epicenter of social activities and a meeting place of the prominent citizens of the state capital down the generations. The Club provides a cozy ambience with state of the art facilities, which is a true second home of its members.
